This poem is dedicated to my friend, Lizy, whose love for children inspired me since the day I met her, until now.  It continues to inspire me.

Rainbow Kids

Children are the color of your day.

They are your laughter and your cheer,

They are your happy yellows.

Children are your love, deep and real;

They are your warming reds.

Children are your calming white,

And spontaneous purples at-play.

They are your blues, your pain;

They are your breaking heart.

They are your dreamers and learners,

They are your thinking greens.

They are your hopeful oranges,

Forgetful and forgiving.

Children are the rainbow of your life.
